POLL: Rate the best RSM setup.

I am leaning toward the ECS setup....what do you guys think. I know Meyle HD is a proven winner, but want the re-enforcement..possible. Choose 4 if "other" but please let me know what is the "other" option.

    Thanks

3 Series Repair Shop Rear Shock Tower Mounts (Pair) (more info)
The rear mounts in BMW 3 series fail, no matter what year from 1983 to present, that is a weak point of the suspension. Here's the solution. The 3 Series "Repair Shop" Rear Shock Mounts carry a lifetime warranty and will last as long as you own your car. Expect the same comfortable ride you have with factory mounts. These are an inexpensive alternative to expensive factory mounts.

Make this complete by adding the mount gasket and nuts (add the option below).

    Part #: JRDRP
    Price: $39.95 (USD)

E30, E36, E46 Aluminum Rear Shock Tower Mounts (pair) (more info)
These are the best rear shock mounts that we have found for the E30, E36, E46, Z3 & E85 Z4! Featuring CNC-machined billet aluminum mounting base with a replaceable urethane bushing (replacement bushings are just $15 and are changed in minutes!). These mounts are excellent for either street or track because of their low NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness). Plus, the superior design will far outlast the life of stock mounts - maybe even the car itself. You'll never think twice about your shock mounts again! These shock mounts are a direct replacement of the stock mounts so they fit all shocks with the BMW-standard 10mm shock shaft, including all factory and OEM shocks (Boge, Sachs, etc), H&R coil overs, Bilstein shocks and PSS, PSS9, PSS10 coil overs (except the B16 Ride Control Kit). This is sold as a package with new shock mount gaskets, washers, and Nyloc nuts.

This item fits the following BMWs:
    1984-1991 E30 BMW 318i 318is 318ic 325e 325es 325i 325ic 325is 325ix M3

Have you looked into vert mounts?

Edit- vert mounts are the same as m3 mounts

I believe there are more choices that you can look at too...

    TC Kline
    http://www.tcklineracing.com/index.c...y&Category=168

    Rogue Engineering
    http://www.rogueengineering.com/rogue/RSM.html

    M3 RSM w/Z3 reinforcement plate

there are probably more, this is just what I remember off the top of my head. Personally, I'm leaning towards the whole TC Kline coilover setup w/camber plates, RSM, and Koni's

Lifetime warranty sounds pretty good for $40. What is the final cost of the ECS kit?

Have you found any review threads on any of the kits?

I have Meyle parts in the front suspension, and I don't have a single complaint.

Too many options! I am looking to replace mine as well in the near future, with Bilstein HD all around. Hopefully someone with some real world experience can tell us what RSM is best. I'll keep my eye on this thread.

To throw another wrench in the mix, when my car was visiting my indy mechanic earlier this month, he noted that one of the rear shocks was starting to leak. He kindly put together a quote and for parts and listed RSM (M3 Upgrade) P# 33 50 4 035 929M. So it sounds like he suggests the M3 RSM, but the part numbers don't match up. So I dunno.

On a slightly unrelated note, he quoted $170 in labor to swap out the RSMs and shocks. I will do it my self, but just wondering if yall consider that a reasonable amount? Total out the door with OEM shocks (380) , the M3 RSMs (70), and labor (170) was quoted at just under 700.

    Thanks

Threadjack response^ that is a very easy job for just the rear shocks and mounts, 1 hour, 2 at most. Do it your self and find out, they might not be the right mechanic for a "BMW".

I think that is reasonable....maybe a tad high.
