    "Carbon Activated" Cabin Air Filter

Anyone try these? Wondering if they really make a difference, or not so much...

(not sure how to link to the affiliate amazon page... feel free to fix this if that's possible!)

That's what I use. The first time I changed my filter (1st month I had the car back in 2004) I put a in charcoal filter. It made a huge difference, but you should have seen the filter that came out, fwewww, it might have been original.

Please visit my build page here, on CarDomain.

negative, there is a plain paper filter and an activated carbon filter. P/N 590 is plain, P/N 591 is carbon.

I run carbon. Pretty sure carbon is OEM.

^ I've seen both but no one seems to carry the non carbon filter.

Looks like BMW has superceded the non carbon and carbon filter to one part number from what I can tell. 64 31 9 071 935.

pelican parts stocks 3 different brands (corteco-micronair, mann, airmatic) of plain paper filter.

Price wise they are roughly equivalent...within a few bucks...to the activated carbon by brand, but the genuine bmw carbon is about 40% more.
