Bump. Still have the tool if anyone is in need.
In the market for an E90 M3
Dario, still got it?
Dane, does it only work on 2001-2007 cars? I want to diagnose SRS light on my 1997. If this only does the newer cars, I might buy the other Peake SRS tool, the R5-SRS. Is yours the R5-SRS-16?
That's what it says. I never used it on another car outside of those parameters.

I'm trying to figure out if the R5-SRS-16 is really just the R5-SRS with a 20-pin round to 16-bit OBD-II adapter, or if it has different software/chip inside. I suppose I could buy the one for the E36 then if I'm happy with it, buy the adapter and try it on the ZHP. The adapter says it lets it work with BMWs up through March 2003. Mine was built around July/August 2003.
I ordered it from ECS Tuning. Feel compelled to find out WHY the airbag light is on, to know if it is urgent to fix it. Normally I feel their shipping charges are kind of high but for this item shipping is free. If it works, I'll see about getting the adapter to try it with the ZHP too. It was for sale on eBay from several sellers as well for $1 more than the ECS Tuning price, and also with free shipping.
Shoot. Sorry I've been absent. I still have it.

Hey Dario. Can it plug into either a 20-pin round (underhood) or 16-pin trapezoidal (under dash) connectors? Meaning does it come with a removable adapter cable or is the cable permanently attached to it? If you'll be around Sunday, I might want to stop by on my way to Thunderhill and see if it can talk to my 1997 M3.
Thanks, Dario. I bought the one for older BMWs from ECS Tuning, they shipped it Thursday via USPS Priority Mail and I got it today! Read my codes, table 02 code 10, "Seat belt buckle switch, driver." Reset it and it didn't come back on in short drive, but the switch is probably bad. Wonder how hard it is to replace. Maybe need to replace the seat belt buckle receptacle? The sensor must be inside that somewhere.
