Honestly, I can't really say - the previous owner installed it. FWIW, I do really like it as it is.

    UUC EVO3 (http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/html_pr...hifter_nav.htm)

After much research I decided it was worth the money over the ebay/bent z3 kits and have been extremely happy with the decision ever since. This is something you will touch, handle, manipulate every. single. time you drive the car so definitely want to get something you'll be happy with (same for shift knob)

The BMW SSK is a marginal upgrade at best... UUC's seems like its a real improvement.

No difference unless its just an older version or something. I know the UUC one sold by Turner Motorsports claims 35% reduction in shift travel.

another vote for the UUC SSK.

I did the 1.9 Z3 shifter in my e30, the improvement was decent, but a lot of that came from the rebuild of the linkage i did along the way.

I guess it boils down to the same old discussion - marginal improvement for some money, best improvement for more money. You have to decide what you want.
