Lightbulb Datalogging for MS45, works with Virtual Dyno!

Hey guys and Gals, For ages people had to use BMW software or Auto Enginuity to Data log their cars but that all comes at a cost. Over $500!

Ok so some of you are saying what? what is Data log?

Well data logging allows you to see the engines functions in real time and you can record the data and graph it.

Parameter ID or also known as PID is what we call up on the software to log, Some PID's are like Throttle Position, Timing Advance, Cam Advance etc.

Most times you get a tune from a company like Eurocharged, well what if you changed an item like the headers, or throttle body, or add cams? With a data logger you can make a log file, graph it or just send Eurocharged or one of their dealers the log file and they can make the changes needed quickly with the information presented to them.

Enter BimmerSoftwares BMW Logger. This is barely out on the market and it is being tested by few. But for many years there hasn't been something like this at all!

A lot of time is going into making all BMW DME's available!

One of our very own here on these forums, Bullfrogs_M3 put in a helping hand for the MS45 crowd (before we get forgotten). If it wasn't for him BMW Logger wouldn't be available for the MS45 cars! So my thanks goes out to him!

I support stuff like this because it helps the DIY guys a lot. It is good for verifying issues with the sensors and you can clear adaptations and CEL's. Cool tool to have.
And best of all is works for Mac OS X 10.5 And Up, Windows XP And Up.

Why buy a scan tool for $100+ when most OBDII Generics will not display BMW Specific PID's?

The cable used for this costs about $9.00 shipped

Once mine is up and running I will let you know as by the end of the day today I should have my beta copy to make sure things are working as they should. I also think Bullfrogs_M3 will be testing out the functionality of it.

Had the pleasure to Try it out

Well I tried out the data logger for the MS45. It is in Beta test now and development is moving along.

RPM is off because of the software offsets. Speed also and a few other PIDs.

I made this log this morning on my car..It was 28 minutes long.
