    Question Fuel filter...how often?

So now that I am going to do my own oil changes, I am worried about missing some routine stuff that the indie place checks out from time to time...

I was thinking about the fuel filter...

    • how often should it be changed?
    • My car has 36 k almost and I am sure the FF has never been changed...
    • Should I get it changed now?
    • Which brands are recommended, and best source(s) to get them? EDIT: This should be ok, no?

      Part #: 13327512019 (13-32-7-512-019) (Mahle)

I am pretty sure my place will let me bring my own parts. (they did that with oil and filter before)

(I also need them to look at the Dinan Air filter I have on and see if it needs re-oiling and whatnot...but that's for a later time)

    Thanks IA

I think no more than 100k miles.

    Otherwise you're risking rich codes.

Kayser is what I used last. Mahle should be fine.

Well.....AutoHausAZ, and FCPeuro are both affiliates.

ECS, Tischer, PelicanParts and TMS are probably most popular among non-affiliates.

I use Mann. Changed first time at 65k last year. Will change this spring probably again, once out of storage.

On my 7.3 I shoot for every 5-10k but I guess that's a different world...

For gasoline i think 30 or 60k is a safe interval depending on how comfortable you are with your fuel quality. The real answer is to pull one off at 30, 40, or 50k, open it up and see what kind of buildup you've got.
