Not mine, but I swapped out the Final Stage Unit (FSR) in my father's E39 540i today. His fan had been acting erratically for the last 6 months and really went down hill in the last few weeks. Wasn't too much of an issue but it's been getting hotter so I bought one and swapped it out. Seems to have solved the problem.

Ordered ARP rod bolts, new oil check valve, oil pump, bottom end gasket set, head studs and other misc. All from thebmwparts store except the ARP stuff, ah the joys of building an engine.. lol. Should be worth it in the end.

Will be repeating today, better half and I are dog/cat/fish/house sitting for the future mother in law, her house is about 20 miles from work. This is atypical for us, my usual commute is 2.2 miles one-way. We decided to car-pool because we work about 4 miles apart and the i3 can be driven and no fuel used.

Oh, and I found and bought some clear paint protectors that go behind the door handles. Only $2.00 for 4 of them. My ZHP wasn't really scratched that bad, but our honda CRV is, I'd rather not take the chances on the i3, plus it was only $2.00 if it looks like crap I'll just throw them away. Still hunting for a similar protector for the top of the rear bumper when the hatch is open. We've almost had damage done in just the 4 days we've owned it. BMW should have some kind of protector stock in that location.
Check xpel website. Had a order for a 3m pro series full kit for a x5m. Usually the xpel templates are used as they are more accurate and the place I deal with just cut them as needed.

I need to do this someday

Well, not what I did but, rather, what was done to my 330Ci today...

DOT is repaving a section of interstate where my exit is in the middle of the length of highway. DOT is in the process of grinding off the first few inches of asphalt and plenty of "marbles" in the untraveled sections. Some assclown in a G35 coupe decides to merge way too late, took to using what was left of the breakdown lane and kicked a decent sized marble up. The marble contacted lower center of the L side of the windshield, under the wiper arm. Nice dual crack up to the lower 1/3 centerline of the glass.

Time for new glass anyway. 233k miles on the original. Waiting until DOT is done before bringing it in for glass replacement.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

    I'll check that out, thanks!

See, this is why I'll still be on this board even though I no longer own a ZHP, awesome members that are very helpful.

Today I attempted the "free" rear fog lamp push button mod that can be done on some F cars, namely the f30 which the i01 (i3) shares a lot of stuff with. Unfortunately the insides are different. This might be MY2015 difference or an i01 difference, not sure. The two panels look identical though so it is tempting to buy a used one off of eBay and try the mod that way. Since the car is technically "leased" then I could always revert to stock if I don't end up buying it (highly unlikely). They are selling for about $60 on ebay, only bad thing is that it has the button for the front fog lights as well which the i01 does not have. Thinking about doing some coding today, but it is rather warm in the garage and the lawncare people are outside doing work. For as small as our houses and lots are they take all freaking day to get the job done. Its too bad they don't go house to house, but I guess that would take even longer.

EDIT: Found XPel on Amazon.com, going to give it some thought weather to go clear or with their black that has a slight texture to it. Climbed up in the attic and found a bunch of e46 parts. I need to get them sold and/or in the pay it forward thread, ugh, no time. Also found my smoked vinyl for the front and rear wheel-arch markers on the i3, might even try to smoke the side mirror side-markers with it. Also adjusted the tennis ball in the garage for backing the car in. It is so much shorter than the e46. I swear its not much smaller inside though, or doesn't feel like it.

I guess I did end up finding some time...

EDIT: Also, to my surprise, my blend mount from the ZHP installed in the i3 perfectly, just hope the large plastic piece on the windshield that encloses the front camera won't interfere with my passport 8500. Doubtful though, that thing has some great range.

Tried to figure out my brake squeak on 323. No luck. Decided to see what 12/10 spacers looked like on it. Looked great, but damn if the rear bolts were about 1-2 mm too long. Hitting parking brake assy, so I removed them. I also raised the rear up 1/4" in preps for our road trip later this month.
