    My body is ready!

I know that the dealers offer discounts to CCA members, but anywhere else? Anything worth noting?

I started my paint correction detail on my ZHP today....

The hood was in bad shape...clayed the hood down, used 3M Compound to really get the paint scratches then sealed/waxed for a good finish

Did you buff it out? I have been thinking about clay barring my whole car

Do it! Won't remove any swirls but the smooth finish after is so worth it.

Dane is right. Clay barring removes some paint oxidation and imbedded dirt. You got to use a good compound and clean cutting pads to remove the light paint scratches, then use a good wax to fill everything left behind in. It's a lot of work but in the end you have a stunning looking car like what you see in Dane's sig

When the paint surface has been clay barred, it will have that velvety smooth feel to it... and yes, well worth the effort to do right. Be forewarned though, if you never clay barred your car then I suggest you do some research on how to properly clay bar the car. If done improperly, you can easily wreck the finish of your car.

I'm not worried about swirls. I don't have any on my car that I have seen, but have yet to give her a good wash and wax. I just want to make the paint look better than 12 years old.
I hate using an orbital buffer though. I have done paint work in the past and even wet sanded and buffed out gel coats on boats. I just always have that fear of swirling the paint. I have never barred though.
