Well since we're in subframe mode, got me a clean, rust free one from the pullapart. I thought about painting it, but I think just a thorough cleaning will do the job.

I will be putting all OEM bushings back in...I really want to do Redish or CMP plates but I have never MIG'd before. I have taken a torch welding course and I was pretty damn good at it by the end of the course...maybe I should do the same for MIG? Might be the best investment I make for my automotive lifestyle.

When I take the old subframe out, I'll do headers and new O2s (since the exhaust has to come out), guibo, shifter bushings and seals, CSB, and maybe a diff swap? Sounds like a good winter project. That'll be almost all the maintenance!

I would have done the job myself if I had time to learn to weld, but since having a kid and going back to work time doesn't agree with me. Definitely take up a course if that's the case. One of my friends is TIG welding all his client cars as well but that's a lot of effort for the job though.

Trevor, how hard was it to do? Do you have any experience sewing stuff?
I'm thinking of doing this for the incoming touring but I have zero sewing experience, and really want to make it absolutely perfect with no wrinkles or obvious imperfections. I'm worried that to achieve that it would take crazy skills - is that the case?

I had zero experience. I usually leave sewing up to my mom. Haha. It was too bad though. Take off trim, align wheel wrap especially at the spokes, then align where the edges come/stitch together in the inside, make sure the stitches are parallel and stitch away. Use double sided tape where I placed it and use more at the spokes. A good alignment will support the tape. You don’t want the tape to support the lack of aligning.

Nothing exciting, but finally got the JRZs and GC camber plates installed on the front of the car. Monday I'm going to call BimmerWorld and order rear camber arms, and talk to them about sway bar(s). While messing with the front we noticed my steering rack looks its age, so I'll order a new rack, lines, and tire rods soon as well.

Took the alarm out of the rusty touring and installed on the new one. Holy crap what PITA it is to disassemble half the trunk area just to get to that darned tilt sensor... twice. lol

Coding done. Still some things left to do, such as exchange the halogens for rusty's Xenons. Gonna try to find an OE shutter connector so I can splice it into the factory harness, or maybe wire to the LCM. Haven't decided yet...
