Anyone ever heard about/have experience with reupholstering their interior and door cards? Been looking for natural brown or cinnamon full set (for coupe) for quite a while, and as you may expect, it's been a tough ride. Seen quite a bit more sedan and convertible sets, though. Thinking at this point if it's worth it in cost for me to just have them professionally done.

Have you considered having the items dyed professionally?
I recall there is an upholstery place in/near San Diego - Jim's - that does good work. They did some great work with some friends' E28s.

From what ive read the montana leather is so crappy it doesn't even hold dye like leatherique all that well. I would love cinnamon in my OG but it just wouldn't work, plus ive got the beige dash. With that said if you come across black nappa (it being a higher quality) from an M3, you may be able to more easily dye that to cinnamon on your own. Hers a thread from e90post where it was done on an e92 with dakota leather.

Hmm I haven’t really. No. I will check out Jim’s, though! Thanks.

Edit: Going there today to get a quote and see colors.

Dye is probably not for me I guess. But those shots look excellent. I’m curious how they start to look in a few years, even with proper care.

Looking for something more permanent I’d say, since I’d be holding onto the car for as long as possible.

Update: Jim's auto reup quoted me $2800. Haven't checked anywhere else, but that does seem a bit on the higher end, maybe I'm wrong. Lady over the phone asked me to come down so they can take a look, give me a quote and go over colors. I got there and a guy came outside and quickly said $2800. I was fishing for information like; Is there any warranty? How long does it take? What kind of leather? He seemed like he really wasn't in the mood to talk. Not a good vibe at all.

Honestly you could probably save 1K just sourcing an OEM cinnamon interior
