I ordered a new fuel level sender (the driver's side suction pump). When I replaced my sway bars I noticed wetness on the driver's side of the fuel tank and a faint fuel smell. I discovered a crack on the topside (a plastic protrusion on the lid, that's not the hose attachment) of the fuel level sender suction pump. Strange. Oh well, parts on the way.

I'm glad I swapped the sway bars, otherwise I wouldn't have discovered it and would have continued to drive with a fuel leak.

Hmm. Inexpensive. Easy to apply. Not a four hour project. I must look into this. Thanks.

Iím having a hard time identifying either of those mirrorsólooks like an E30 on the left?

Iíve decided Iím just going to put my M3 mirrors on the car without connecting the motors. Once I get them set manually I wonít need to move them, and I just really donít want to deal with fabbing up the brackets to allow re-using the ribbon motors.

I'm with you on the mirrors -- just connect the heating and call it a day. No need to move them with aspherical glass!

Oh i see it now. The angle made the mirror look like it went into the baseplate all chunky like the E30 mirrors. Second cup of coffee here I come...

As for the heating, I think itís all part of the same ribbon but I havenít take the stock mirrors off to inspect them yet. I might be able to rig up something simple with some thin gauge wire thatíll still pass through the opening.

Would heat even work without receiving any power?

My OCD wouldnít let me do it but I thought about just mounting them, it wasnít that bad transferring the motors. De-pinning the ribbon connectors was the worst part.

Solid point on the aspherical glass tho, I wonder if I can find those for the ACS housing.

I still have my E39 M5 mirrors. Sitting in a box. Too complicated to do the refurbish to the E46.

I guess I muffed something up, all my functions are there, just the wrong directional orientation to the switch. Like up goes left, down right, etc.

Finally replaced my fuel filter today 84,780 miles. As a measure of my procrastination, I bought the filter and hose kit from Bavauto in 2017.... But job done, and it appeared to be the original filter. I couldn't believe the black crap that drained out of the old one.

    2 take aways for me....

1st - my wife bought these Nitrile gloves for some crafting she's doing. These are way better than the cheap latex gloves I've been wearing working on cars. Good grip and don't tear! Highly recommended and I now have my own box!

    2nd - man I love this Quickjack..
