    1. The dealer came to your house? That’s the first I’ve ever heard of something like that and

    2. What is this settlement check you speak of?

Due to the pandemic, dealers are offering at-home airbag replacement.

I adjusted the parking brake shoes last night. Now the car holds 2-clicks up and doesn't torque to one side on hills!

Yep, they came to my house. I received a letter from BMW / NHTSA / USDOT saying they had free mobile recall repair service. I think the dealership only offered it within 12 miles of their dealership. And interestingly enough, they only mailed me reminders for this airbag recall for one of my two cars (m3, but not the zhp).

I also received a marketing mailer specifically from one of the dealerships nearby (Crevier) for the airbag recall, but the number I called from the BMW / NHTSA / USDOT mailer to arrange my airbag fix (call center) ultimately routed me to Irvine BMW's service dept. I let them know I had two (provided the VIN for both cars) and it was arranged. I'm fortunate to be within short distance to 3 dealerships (Crevier, Irvine, and Sterling).

Try calling 877-459-3614, which is the number on the mailer for the "come to you" option.

I wasn't aware of any settlement check, but I'm sure fredo's right in that the lawyers got most of the meat from the bones.

I think somewhere way back in the past there was a thread in here on how to apply for the Airbag Settlement. I went according to the steps of that thread. This was pre-pandemic. Took a while to get the settlement. Just about forgot about it until the check came.

I wish I would have seen that post/link last year. Free money is nice, regardless of the amount
