What cable(s) / hardware did you need for this? And where did you get them? Thanks!

Zero downside. Makes a huge difference. The car 'feels' faster with the drive by wire throttle delay removed, but technically it's not faster. But you get the response with just a light touch of the throttle. PS a little known tidbit, I came up with the Sport Button mod in my mind, and William implemented it for me. But the funny thing was someone on e46fanatics came up with the same idea and technically he was the 1st to actually do it I believe.

You need a windows laptop, and a K+DCAN cable. I got mine here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/202779743812
Scott will send you all the software needed to do the update, but you would need to download TeamViewer so he can gain access to your laptop and run everything for you. Very quick process, this guy has it down.

Haha I think I saw a thread somewhere on the sport button mod. Nice, you should educate the masses that you are the original inventor. Can't let e46fanatics take the glory on this one...
Well, I am pretty much sold on this mod. I will probably get one closer to the holidays when there are some sales going on. Maybe I will drop a hint somewhere for someone to buy me a gift...

Thanks! Cable ordered. Can't wait to see the end result.

Changing topics, if my car is in need of engine/transmission mounts, is there any reason to order anything other than OEM? Any upgraded parts out there that are worth it?

I always go with OEM E46 M3 mounts when replacing engine and transmission mounts, they seem to be a bit firmer, but not harsh at all.

    +1. They’re a great “OEM+” upgrade for us.

Thanks for the recommendation. Sounds good to me as long as they don't increase the NVH much.

Do you guys feel pretty comfortable replacing these with the vehicle on jack stands and a floor jack under the engine?

Have yet to do it on this car, but I've done it on 3 other cars this way.

I replaced the tranny mounts on my zhp with M3 ones and there was noticeable increase in V and H for the first few days. They sort of settled after a while. So give it sometime after you replace them...
