^ looks great! I went through two of those and ended up going back to the original (non auto-dimming). I'm pretty sure it was something to do with how I used to have my old radar detector wired in... I should look into getting another one...

Went to take off my passenger door molding. Clip got stuck, and when it popped, snapped the moulding in half. Not happy

Thank goodness for used parts...I'm currently looking for one.

    Started with this...

Prior to the next picture... I spent 2 hours with the M.E.K. and Goo-Gone to get one stupid decal off of the car under the drivers tail light. What a *(&@(&^%$#@#(%)%*(#@$_@# But it looks WAY better now (stupid dealership sticker)

With my satisfaction I moved on to:

That pic will likely end up in the Cheap Mod thread.

    Maintenance day yesterday!

Took a few coolant showers when draining block/rad/ET, flushed my nasty power steering ATF, replaced VANOS oil line/bolts/crush washers, replaced OFHG, replaced radiator, replaced alternator, replaced PS reservoir, re-clamped PS hoses.

While putting things back together, I snapped one of the bolts on the oil filter housing. FML. Just bought a bolt extractor kit. Gonna replace all 6 bolts.

Then, fill & bleed coolant with BMW Antifreeze, fill PS fluid with Redline D4, top up oil, and full wash.

I had coolant, ATF and 5W30 in my hair when I finished yesterday lol. The car enthusiast's hair gel!

Yeah...pretty lame. This made me invest in a good trim removal kit. I've never had trouble removing this piece in the past, too. Gonna call bav auto recycling tomorrow, posted around in various forums in hopes I can find one.

Interesting design on the part, though; the exterior moulding seems to have about 5-6 nylon cords running through it. I'm guessing this gives it strength and rigidity for when it gets taken off?

I highly, highly, highly recommend everyone get this kit. It's on sale as well. Nobody ever mentions using non-marring trim removal pieces in disassembly, but after last night I realized why they're invaluable and necessary.

What did you do for your ZHP/ BMW / MINI today? #2

I have added up my receipts from the last 4+ years, I have concluded that I easily have already spent more than my ZHP cost on it's window sticker
