i don't have any pics.
you're effectively disconnecting the stock CCV system and replacing it with these parts:
- catch can
- 3/4" high-pressure oil-friendly hose
- 5/8" high-pressure oil-friendly hose
- hose clamps
- 5/8" PCV valve (i can dig up the part # if needed, it is posted somewhere on this forum)
here's how it can be setup:
- 3/4" hose routed from outlet in valve cover, to inlet on catch can.
- 3/4" hose routed from outlet on catch can to 5/8" reducer
- 5/8" hose routed from reducer to 5/8" PCV valve, mounted vertically (i have mine underneather the intake manifold)
- 5/8" hose routed from PCV valve to severed OEM intake manifold CCV connector (this is the vacuum source). this concludes the vacuum portion.
- remove and cap oil drain hose inlet on dipstick tube that ran from the old CCV unit
i don't know how much i drive per week, but we average about 20K miles per year on the ZHP. i empty it every 3-4 months from april til november. in the sub-zero months i check it often because i am paranoid about freezing oil vapor mayo. if i was using the stock CCV i would be freaking out.
i'm actually going to be implementing a heater system for the catch can to keep the oil vapors from freezing.
agreed, i love the M3 engine mounts on my car as well.
very easy. same mount for both sides. if you have about 18"-24" of socket extensions that will help a lot (one with a wobble end will help on the passenger side).
