well, if you are eager, and don't mind crying, do a search for 'E46 RACP failure' (carnage) and 'VinceBar' (the solution). it ain't pretty, but you're likely early enough in the onset to prevent more damage if you address it now (not with plates, they do not address the root of the problem).

i'm pretty confident that at least 40% of the cars on this forum have that same initial crack near the left rear mount that yours did, and i would definitely urge them to inspect.

Don't mind him, hes a little eccentric in regards to RACP and his motto is "I can not rest until all RACPs are saved"

I believe most non M will last the life of the owner with just plates. You'll only want Vincebar if you track it hard or launch hard or have an S54 that eats RACP for breaky.

Are you saying that the Rear chassis/subframe reinforcement kit will delay the crack propagation (depending on when it was caught) but will not prevent an inevitable failure?

hey man, just trying to help people out. i'm a problem solver.

you can lead people to water, but you can't make them drink.

dude, you can believe that all you want....you know i disagree with this. (remember, my car's RACP is cracked like the one on the previous page.)

if one studies the RACP's design, the load path, and the failures (there's tons of cutaway images out there), they will quickly realize that plates won't do squat.

the VinceBar is the best solution i've seen thus far (and hey, you have one en route, right? or did it arrive already?).

i'm out. gotta go make dinner.
