Okay, so after yet more testing, while a slow approach to the limit results in the rev limiter kicking in at 60mph, a rapid (i.e., typical) approach definitely results in the rev limiter kicking in between 50 and 55 mph. Without any apparent clutch slippage, there’s a lag between rpm and mph under rapid acceleration that I do not understand.

    Cute! Get ‘me interested early.

To your question above, I have not done much investigation and it’s just my gut on when I need to shift based on Redline (not limiter). It’s also a bit hard to tell b/c I have an M cluster in my ZHP. Also note my speedometer has been coded to be more accurate.

I don’t think speedo accuracy is relevant. The surprising thing to me is that I’m seeing different speeds at what I think is the same RPM, depending on how rapidly I approach the limit. Oh well, life goes on... have a great day!

My brother replaced his spark plugs today, pulled one of them last week and was appalled at what he saw even though the dealership he bought it from claimed they recently changed the plugs

Incase you forgot, this is what new spark plugs are supposed to look like

I’m probably going to do the same this weekend just to be safe, he’s got me paranoid with all of this stuff he’s doing to his car. Keeps asking me when the last time I changed the oil was, it’s still 2000 miles ago

Did some more testing after the IACV cleaning and boot change. ~3000 RPM has cleared up and it seems pretty smooth. 4000 also seems good, but I need to do some more testing.

Well, not something I did, but something my dad did...
cut to the chase I don’t live with my dad anymore, and he mentioned cleaning out the garage recently to throw all the old furniture in a big dumpster. I went to his house today to grab my old air intake for my brother when I saw it literally peaking out of the top of the dumpster. Went over and hopped it and turns out he threw out ALL of my ZHP parts that were organized in storage containers. So they all sat outside for the past few days in the open dumpster while we had the most rain all year, and almost everything is ruined.
    Things that got thrown away:
    - 2 sets of kidney grilles
    - OEM muffler
    - 2 sets of clear corners with matching sets of the side lights
    - OEM tail lights
    - 3 Shift Knobs
    - OEM dash
    - 2 sets of lug bolts
    - TiAg rattle cans and touch up paint
    - OEM air filter

And that’s just what I’ve managed to find in a dumpster that’s 18(?)ft long
$500 worth might be a stretch, but just curious what number would you put on lost parts? I wanna be able to throw out a reasonable number when I talk to him
