i've had good success with a mini 2-jaw puller. also, if you grab the wiper arm just above the base and rock it up and down, that helps break the crud free in the splines.
Everything is clean -- I'm pretty sure the tech that changed the cowl hit the nuts with several ugga duggas, so the inserts are one with the posts now.

yeah, i like that method a lot - i use it when i'm tight on space, like with caliper carrier bolts. i also will put my breaker bar on it, and hit that with a 5lb sledge. works well.

    Parts used:

    1) 3/8" tubing
    2) 10mm metric screw (length does not matter)
    3) Clamp (forget the size)

All parts were obtained from Home depot. Hopefully this will take care of the ever recurring headlamp washer leak for good.
I need to import one of those!

So the collet is jammed in there, you are never going to get the wiper arm off with that in place. Put the nut back on loosely and hit the nut with a hammer. That should jar the collet upwards in relation to the post. I'd suggest then placing your hand on the pivot point and applying gentle pressure to allow the arm to lift up from the post free of tension. Good luck.
