considering this is what my car originally came with.. like 0 options. Yes it is very satisfying. I will never understand why ZHps seem to be the lowest optioned cars compared to non ZHP cars. its like just because they got the ZHp package, they got nothing else.

My (uneducated) guess would be that when people were buying a Performance Package-equipped E46, they were interested most in the driving-aspect of the car and less the luxury. A $3,900 price-tag for the Performance Package is nothing to laugh at for most people, so that's where they spent their budget, often foregoing things like rear sunshade or heated seats to manage the sale price of the car.
But in all honesty, who knows.
The ZHP option was over 4k on my window sticker. Mine came optioned out pretty good...
Dinan CAI &Throttle body, ESS Tuning TS2, Bimmerbrakes gen3 headers, UUC SSK & DSSR. Achilles oil pump, VAC oil pan baffle
M3 Motor mounts, UUC Trans mounts, Modified clutch style LSD 3.15, TMS front subframe reinforcement, Koni Yellow sports,
H&R sport springs, UUC sway bars, BMW Perf. Rotors, UUC SS brake lines, Hawk HPS pads, CSL replica wheels,
Rotora strut bar, FXR HID conversion, M3 Mirror conversion, BSW stage 1 speakers
well theres weird things like...
Why did Coupes get TPMS but sedans did not....
Why was the rear sunshade so much more common on M3s and non M coupes than the Sedans
Why did coupes come with PDC more often but not sedans
Obviously the switch Center is not the sole dictator of what options your car has but its a good indicator of how well equipped the car is overall. there are options that have no need for a button in the switch center such as cold weather package with headlight washers and 60/40 rear seats...
but if your switch center is loaded full, you can bet your ass that car has even more goodies in it.
but any case im very weird... i wanted a car that had as many or all options possible... even if it meant a car in a configuration was was not possible to order.
I think i have almost all options now except the 60/40 rear seat.... that's a conversion i will be looking into next. once My parts guy gets a sedan that has the 60.40 split seats... ill be harvesting all the latches cables etc.. .and cutting out the sheet metal portions that hold the lower hinge brackets so i can weld them into place in my car.

Most ZHPs that I see in ads seem to have some options and aren't base cars. The vast majority have Xenons, a fair number with cold weather package or at least have heated seats, and many have leather. I think the super base cars like yours are actually a rarity.
My idea of a ZHP with no options is:
* Halogen headlights
* Alcantara, non-heated seats
* No split folder rear seats
* Manual rearview mirror
* Standard business radio
* Manual (since automatic was a paid option)
* No moonroof
Usually ZHPs have at least a couple of upgrades to the above specs. What did yours have when you bought it?

Took my ZHP to alignment shop and the guy showed my how the left rear needed a eccentric bolt as he could not pull the camber in to meet specs. Ordered eccentric bolt, special eccentric washer and locking nut. The right rear suspension already had an eccentric bolt in place. Somehow missed this detail for the left rear wheel when I got the suspension bushing overall done two years ago.
I experienced two moments of joy at the alignment shop. It is a small place focusing only on alignments and suspension repairs. The three customer waiting chairs are literally in the shop beside the garage door. I was sitting there and got to hear the sweet sound of my car's engine as he drove it up the ramp onto the alignment machine. I don't get to hear the car from that angle and it sounded so good. The other experience was going underneath the car while it was up on the rack. Our cars are beautifully constructed machines from all angles including the visuals underneath, too.
