I was considering AKG, but I really did not want poly engine mounts. In my experience they just transmit more vibrations than I'm willing to accept. These are engineered to have the best of both worlds

With your condition I can totally understand that. In for your 3k mile update.

How do motor mounts relate to engine intake sound? I can see how they reduce engine slop and help a bit for engine response, but intake sound? Hmph!

Honestly, I don't know. I would guess the high frequency vibrations (responsible for sound) are transmitted by the mounts to the chassis.

I've read similar sentiments from people who ran the group-N engine mounts.

When I pulled my old engine mounts, the driver side one was in two pieces. I can effectively say that I reduced my engine slop a bit.

Sent from my yet to be hacked GS3.

Deep pockets for those people. Outrageous prices.

I planned on going e46 or e9x M3 mounts when my time comes.

They're the same. E46 M3 mounts were superseded to the E9x part number when the E9x launched.

As you can see mine were more or less fine physically. But the rubber was dry cracked. I don't know how they'd feel compared to brand new stock mounts - I'd guess they became a little softer by the end.

Yeah I just found that out now while browsing E46F. I thought that they were the same but I played it safe and said 'or'

How long did it take you? I assume it all went smoothly since I didn't get any texts for help

Haha it took me way too long. Just stupid things going wrong throughout the process.

If I had to do it again, I could do it much quicker
