I took a gamble...i am kinda having second thoughts and may switch the order tomorrow to the easy fitment 18x9 ET42 (the order hasn't shipped yet)...but DAT CONCAVE DOE.

If it rubs i can always get the fenders rolled...
the firehawks do seem a bit narrower, yeah - BP's got them in 255's and they do seem narrower on an 8.5" wheel - they actually look really good on that width.

18x9 ET42 would be the right choice for a sedan, and for keeping the track widths the same ratio F/R as they are stock. i hear you on the Call Of The Concave.... but dang man, you're going to need to roll the frig out of the rear fenders, and i don't think you're going to be happy with that.

Just make sure you remove the rear bumper clip and shave down that stud. It can be a killer of your sidewall. Your rear bumper will not change in fitment gap. Roll your fenders hard. Remove the sealant and fold it over aggressively. Keep paint hot to the touch so it doesn’t crack at the fold. Then once done rolling I suggest you rust proof the sh!t out of your rear fender with sanding and coatings. Rolling that hard/thick of German sheet metal will crack the paint where the roller wheel is contacting, allowing for water to get under the paint in the near future. You don’t want to have to deal with that. My car was rusting at both rear fenders because of that oversight.

I’ll *always* have a soft spot for the Z3 platform. My neighbor’s girlfriend had a 2.8 Z3 Coupe when they first came out, and a few years later my buddy’s dad bought a 3.0 black on black Z3 vert wearing 17” Style 32s. It was pure sex on wheels, and was a major factor in developing my love for BMW (the first one I really got up close and personal with).

I’m just so afraid if I ever drive an OG Clownshoe it’ll somehow be a letdown; like it wouldn’t be everything I’d hyped it up to be. I’ve driven a 3.0si Z4 and loved it, and I’ve driven an S54, so I’d more or less know what to expect, if that makes sense.

I have the same dilemma... 18"x9.5" ET35 SM-10 on a sedan. I have 18'x9" ET35 on it now with an aggressive roll, pretty low and negative camber. Hankook Evo, Stock tire sizes.Only rubs over bigger dips... I little worse with me, the wife, two 4 year olds and car seats.

I really want the Apex SM-10's so I said F'it while they were on sale. They don't have many offset choices. Now I'm looking at the ones I have now like, "hmm another 1/4' ain't going to cut it."
I haven't even opened the boxes yet and I got them on Monday... was kind hoping to see how yours fit first LOL

BTW 8.5 ET 35 fit just fine on the front. The front is at about -1.5 degrees. I took some of the rear negative camber out in the pics below

Dinan CAI &Throttle body, ESS Tuning TS2, Bimmerbrakes gen3 headers, UUC SSK & DSSR. Achilles oil pump, VAC oil pan baffle
M3 Motor mounts, UUC Trans mounts, Modified clutch style LSD 3.15, TMS front subframe reinforcement, Koni Yellow sports,
    H&R sport springs,
UUC sway bars, BMW Perf. Rotors, UUC SS brake lines, Hawk HPS pads, CSL replica wheels,
Rotora strut bar, FXR HID conversion, M3 Mirror conversion, BSW stage 1 speakers

I had 8.5ET30 up front (225/40) and even then it only rubbed on severe bumps, running roughly -1.5° camber. Without my camber plates and different spacers I’m sitting around -0.6° effective 8.5ET32.5 and I’m rubbing on the same size bumps.

Congrats on your Z4, FungShui. Looks like it came with ARC8's, lowered suspension, a splitter, CF mirrors, painted reflectors, aero skirts, and a stubby antenna. Any other mods? Hope you'll join us over at Zpost -- great group of friendly, helpful folks just like here.

Looks like a stud conversion too. That splitter looks fantastic from the side profile.

Good eye. And we didn't mention mud flaps. Don't see those very often on a Z.
