Of course, once plastically deformed, it's much more likely they will snap if subjected to subsequent forces--as many people have found out.
What is the reason for the extra turns past a specified torque value?

I’ll probably actually buy new ones once I’ve done my OPG. After the clutch and OPG, I don’t plan (“plan” being the operative word there) on being down there again for a while.

I speculate (i.e., don't know) that engineers intentionally strain the screws to facilitate failure in the event of a crash. I base this partially on heresay on this forum. As for replacing the screws in the future, I plan on sourcing the screws and washers from "Bolt Depot" or Fastenal" to save big bucks.

I wonder if those qualify under FCP’s replacement program. My first thought “oh $3.04/ea. isn’t terrible.” And then I remembered there are 8 of them.

I’m sure they do qualify. The only things that don’t qualify are aerosol spray cans which cannot be refilled I think.

Just a little battery maintenance time. She loves the electron juice and purrs from it. You can see it in her eyes. LOL

I did too yesterday for the first time in 4 months, only for it snow without warning while I was at work. The drive home with Michelin PSS was luckily uneventful as the snow didn’t accumulate...
