Good to know. What I guess you're saying is the ECS aftermarket part has the lines, and the eBay one I bought is a knock off of the knock off........

    Cooling system and spa

I just had my cooling system worked on (expansion tank, hoses and thermostat) and decided to have the dealer do a detail job as well. They detailed my wife's 535i earlier this month and did a great job, so I decided to go for it. Usually I do this sort of thing myself. Well, the folks at Medford BMW did an amazing job on my car. It came back looking like new! I guess that's why the owner of a blue McLaren had their car detailed there. Plus they throw in a spa appointment for the owner as well, so my wife gets another trip to the masseuse.

Thanks and likewise. I really like the car...it has 61K on it and I've owned it for almost two years. What a blast.

i got my AC recharged earlier this week. it was blowing hot air and it has been in the mid 90s this week. no bueno. blowing cold again. i had the shop put a dye in with the freon so we can pinpoint the leak. i figure recharging 1-2x per year at ~$150 a pop is still cheaper than dropping $2500-3k for a new condenser.

also topped up oil. since switching to Shell Rotella 5w-40 Diesel oil, the consumption is not as bad, about one quart so far in about 1700 miles.

A friend of mine had the same issue with his zhp, but he needed to refill it every week. He was quoted $2500ish by the dealership and he agreed to pay it but when all was said and done the dealership gave him a huge discount and he only had to pay $1100ish...

$150 a pop yeesh. I did my own the other day. I got three cans for $20 and already had a trigger hose from doing a friends car a while back. It was certainly sketchy without the proper equipment that a shop has, but I was confident in my method.
