I just replaced all 4 of my Halogen's with Philips H7 X-TremeVision Upgrades. I guess I'll have to wait until it gets dark tonight to say "wow"

I wasn't pleased to see all the cracked and bare wires inside the headlight assemblies though. Bent them so them won't touch each other for the time being, but that's going to be a project for another day. I see tons of threads on this one

You don’t need the kit that size (I think they make one with smaller portions), but this kit was enough for the ZHP and **barely** the 530i. Admittedly I probably used too much on the ZHP, and had to go pretty thin (read: probably the correct amount) on the 5er.

Edit: Autogeek runs sales all the time. You can probably get 15-25% off if you’re patient.
What was the process like to put it on? Not including the paint correction.

Yeah, I had to fully rebuild the wiring harnesses inside my headlights in December. It was very tedious...

About like wax. Apply to one panel at a time, and then buff off. But you can’t let it cure for more than a couple minutes or removal is a pain in the ass. In summer heat I’d say 3-4min max before removal. Then you just need to keep the car in the garage for 12-24 hours for full “cure.”

Well that brings up a good point. I can pull the headlights when I put the car in storage next winter and do in the warmth of the house over the winter. And not be at the same back breaking angle it took to replace the bulbs

Yeah, doing it on the car isn't really an option.
Baking your headlights to remove the lenses will be the hard part for you, I'd imagine. If it was a sedan, I could offer to help you out, but I'm not comfortable baking headlights. Mine was easy in that regard; just pop off the headlight lens and disassemble.

Let me know if you need some wire; I still have some left from when I did mine.

So from what your saying, the harness has more damage than you can see within a few inches of the bulb connector? Because I was seeing some kits that sold the pinned connector and 3.7 inches of pigtail to splice to. Which I assume I could do with pulling the lenses. Like this:

The damage in mine went a lot deeper than that. My wiring had falling-off insulation all the way to where the pins are on the housing. It was really bad.
If you see any broken insulation, it really is worth rebuilding the whole thing as chances are it's bad in spots where you can't see it. Even if it isn't bad now, it probably will be soon.

This is what one of my headlights looked like. Look at all those splits! I honestly don't know how my car didn't burn to the ground by then; there are long sections of wire that were just bare.

Forgive me bank account, for I have sinned.

I registered this afternoon for the SCCA Track Night in America event on the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval in July. And 30 minutes ago I got an email from the CCA saying I’d cleared the waitlist for my second HPDE at VIR. Ouch. Fun as hell, but ouch.
