Was it leaking or going bad?

I replaced both brake pad sensors and gave both cars a much needed bath.

I will never forgive myself for not taking care of this when I did the clutch.

How bad was that job? Did yours fail or was this just preventative?

It was on its last leg, probably started on the first attempt 30-40% of the time.

It was shitty, but a far cry from the worst I’ve down. I refuse to disconnect the fuel rail, so I had to work around the manifold rather than remove it completely. Having smaller hands and decent flexibility allowed me to access the E12 starter bolts from underneath without dropping the transmission at all. Had I not removed the starter during the clutch job it would’ve been terrible because the center peg gets oxidized and just seizes to the starter.

Either way, it was worth the effort for the savings.

Ugh... and now me too. 305k, maybe it's time...
I heard they can be rebuilt. Much cheaper than buying a new one.

Awesome! Wish I had a garage to do it myself and save about $500...

@704sw guess you found space in your garage huh? I was reading about how you really want to do the job on a cold car, so maybe coming over Saturday morning would have been a shit idea.
