During the summer I found a car with 80,000 miles on it. I got the price down to $14K. With an extra 35,000 miles on it, I am guessing that I would be looking to price this one at $10K-$11K. Bad pictures so I can't tell much about the body.

    Love the color.

I'll tell you, after decade of owning Bimmers and having one that requires a LOT of attention I have come to realize that absolute mileage is less relevant than many people think. Over on the E30 M3 board we see cars with really low miles all the time requiring a lot of attention. A car rolling on a highway put virtually no strain on the motor. While the car sitting in a humid barn is causing pitting on the crankshaft and bearings.

There was some maintenance that should have been done at 100,000 miles on that car. I would be looking at records very closely. If it was not done, then the new owner will need to do it (incurring costs).

You're right, though. I would not rule a car out just because of high mileage. But it is an excuse for me to knock the price down.
