    Quick coolant question

Guys, noticed my coolant is low. EAG said to top it off last week once I drove back but didn't drive all week. I saw so many treads pretty much saying BMW only brand. Since its sunday and can't get to dealer, what's good to top it off Zerex G05?

Quick response would be greatly appreciated.

How much does it need? Wat is your temp/ratio? Might be able to just add water for now. Or wait till tomorrow.

It's gonna be below 30 tonight, won't be driving much this week but what do you use in a pinch? Is it safe to add the zerex then add the bimmer brand when I can get to a dealer?

And when the dealer does open, buy a gallon and keep it around. I always had at least a partial gallon of the blue stuff around. It fits in the trunk side well perfectly.

Dude. 30 is nothing. 30 below 0 would be worrisome. You should already have a mix in there that would get you below 0. Adding a little water wont dilute that much, as long as you only need a little.

Whatever you use, top off when stone cold and be sure you understand the pictogram showing how to read min/max fill per the float.

Typically a few ounces of distilled water is enough.

Don't add anything but BMW coolant 50/50 mix with distilled water. The animal that owned my e36 before me used some miserable green crap in there. Luckily I got it out with out too much pitting. Our block etc is aluminum and really only BMW coolant works.
