    Service/Tool Rental

    Hi guys,

So I was thinking that we could possibly start a thread regarding tool rental. I just realized that my differential bearing is gone and am not sure if I would want to spend more than $100 dollars to fix a problem once and never use the tool again. In terms of helping out the community and all the DIYers that we have here I believe that this thread would be quite useful. Does anyone have a Rear Differential Puller?

To start the list I would be able to offer the following services/tools

    1. Tnhl1989 - MA - NCS/PA Soft/INPA (BMW Scanner 1.4.0. ; K+DCAN)
    2. Johnrando - CA - NAV update S/W ; Code Reader
    3. Dane - VA - Mafia Roller, SRS AIRBAG RESET TOOL, FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS, VANOS RATTLE, PAINT CORRECTION
    4. Billschusteruv - PA - Brakes (Motive Powerbleeder & Craftsman Vacuum Blender Set) ; OBDII Code Reader (Actron Autoscanner) ; E30 02 Sensor Wrench
    5. Bimmerwill - RTAB Puller
    6. Rmckinley81 - MIS RTAB tool. $25 rent. $95 deposit.
    7. Niart - M3 Valve Adjustment Tools for rent
    8. Imola.ZHP - MIS RTAB tool
    9. Forum fender roller - Advise that it is currently floating around and I believe Johnrando has it currently.
    10. Clemsone46 - Vanoes Service Tool Set, Crank Pulley Removal Tool - 30 day rental will be $50 + $300 (refundable core charge) + $15 shipping.

Great idea. We already have a mafia roller, SES tool, and I think something else (in the custody of the Underboss, Dane). Maybe we could put all the loaner/group tools in the same thread. I've got NAV update s/w on a CD I'm certainly willing to loan. I've also loaned out my code reader.

The thread did exist. Seemed a bit out dated now. So what shall we do?

What does the rear differential tool do? I have seen a tool for sale to remove and replace the 3 rear diff bushings. Or do you need to disconnect the CV joint or remove the output flanges? (Saw a video showing tool for popping off output flanges was a big screwdriver.) I think the RTAB tool might work on the big bushing at the rear of the differential but would be too big for the two smaller bushings in front of the diff.

This is a great thread. When I get something I will certainly add it.
