May be a salvage title. He says it drives straight but better check it out real close. Have the alignment checked. Also needs a clutch.

My car is a salvage. Fixed it myself. If it's done right, no worries. Having worked at a auction broker for seven months, I'll tell you, I've seen some really wrecked cars that are still clean title.

All that salvage means is that the insurance company made a full payout on it, it's no gauge to how bad a car was damaged. Conversely, I've seen cars be salvaged over very minor accidents, like my bosses Jetta. All he changed was the headlight, fender, bumper cover.

Moral: if it's been in an accident, clean title or salvage is pretty meaningless, in retrospect.

Salvage car is always harder to sell than clear titled car. Regardless of the real damage done to the car. So, always keep that in mind, unless you plan to drive the car until it stops running and then send it over to the junk yard.

Also, extensive suspension damage may have caused damage to the frame as well, which is why the insurance co might have decided to write it off. So an extensive inspection by a qualified mechanic is in order for a car like this.

I was doing business in Brooklyn, NY last week. The business said they sustained flooding to a depth of 44 inches.
These cars look tempting but my knowledge is too limited to seriously consider.
