When cycling through the gears, is it necessary to go through all gears? I mean, shift into manual mode and hit 1st, 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th?

I don't think so but I did. Probably really only really need to do P-R-N-D-SD. Might as well do the 1-3 manual gears just in case.

Edit: You can only get up to 3rd get when sitting still in manual mode.

I was wondering about that. Actually did a search for the answer but could not find one. So if at a stop, you put it in 3rd, the car will take off in 3rd gear?

I honestly doubt the tranny will let you start in third.

OP, how did you remove the fill plug? What tools did you used? I got the under the car today to scope things out before doing this job. The fill plug is in a really tight space. I can't even get the torx socket to fit, let alone with a ratchet. Any tips?

I have an L shaped tool. It is similar to Allen keys. You just fit one end in there and use a rubber mallet to bump loose or extension pipe for leverage.

Thanks. Didn't think of that. Will go to Lowes or HD to see if they have it.

No problem. I think I picked up a torx set at orielly or autozone. I'm sure HD or Lowes have something as well.
