6k miles on V12s isn't typical. Sounds like possible alignment issues. I also run V12s lately and they are lasting considerably longer than that on an old M3 with modified suspension. I unfortunately didn't record the exact mileage but at least 5k on the rears, they still have more than 1/2 tread remaining.
BTW, not all summer tires are expensive like the PSS, and still provide better grip and shorter braking distances than "all" seasons.
