So I'm thinking about getting one. For gels, I was going to pul a red out of my tosco gel pack I use for my photo lights.
$3 for a whole pack. Overkill since you don't need all the other colors, but it's an alternative on the cheap!

The UltraGauge came in handy yesterday. The temp was around 114 degrees and the audible alarm I have set at 210 went off twice! Best $60 I've spent for piece of mind.
