    Thanks for this, folks. Yes as regards the cover on the interior of the door. You remove that to get access to the mirror mounting, right? If so: how?

    Just did this conversion with no DIY. Accidentally completely severed the ribbon cables on the driver side. Successfully scraped them and soldered back together. On the passenger side I actually did away with the large piece of plastic inside and mounted my motors directly to the rectangular base, with a spacer in between. Got my mirrors for 200 as well

    Good job! I wasn't so fortunate. Even after soldering, my motors are still dead
    Dinan CAI &Throttle body, ESS Tuning TS2, Bimmerbrakes gen3 headers, UUC SSK & DSSR. Achilles oil pump, VAC oil pan baffle
    M3 Motor mounts, UUC Trans mounts, Modified clutch style LSD 3.15, TMS front subframe reinforcement, Koni Yellow sports,
    H&R sport springs,
    UUC sway bars, BMW Perf. Rotors, UUC SS brake lines, Hawk HPS pads, CSL replica wheels,
    Rotora strut bar, FXR HID conversion, M3 Mirror conversion, BSW stage 1 speakers

    I scraped the insulation off the ribbon cables, overlaid, and carefully soldered. Luckily I had a new iron with a very fine point. Amazed they still work

    I did the same procedure and verified the connections with a multimeter but no joy

    Did you have the plastic cable heads on correctly. When I originally tested they didn't work but I since I had pulled the pins out of the head to feed them through, I tried switching them and it worked
