Folks, I am relatively to the ZHP mafia forums - I am more active on the E46F forums. I do not have a ZHP but I have a 2004 330i with about 142,000 KMs now. Bought it at 128,000 KMs. I joined this forum because everybody is so helpful and the level of discussions is so mature, without any flaming.
I have been getting the P2240 code randomly since I bought my car in April this year.
The code usually pops-up when I am cruising along on the highway and I need to accelerate around the 120 km/h range. I believe there is some slight hesitation when I step on the gas and after a few seconds, the MIL comes on. The code disappears after a few days.
When I plug in my PA soft scanner, I get:
2974/A4 - O2-sensor before KAT Bank 2: lines
2973/84 - O2-sensor before KAT Bank 1: lines
I have done a bunch of PM stuff on my car over the summers (with help from orange260z):
- Spark plugs
- Fuel filter
- Full cooling system overhaul
- Fuel pump
- Auto GM transmission fluid+filter change
- Differential fluid change
- Cold weather CCV and hoses
- New OEM DISA valve
- VCG and OFHG replacement
- Upper and lower intake boots
- Brake fluid bleed
Question: Is it worth it to get the O2 sensors posted on this thread and replace them? Or has this something to do with the software version on the DME?
Danewilson, I believe you were getting the same codes on your car, what did you do to fix it?
Oh, and a few pictures of my car from 2 weekends ago:
