aFe Stage 1 Intake Won't Fit

Purchased a stage 1 pro-dry aFe intake from an E46F member who said it was for the 325/330. Went to install it today but my stock MAF o-ring is too big to fit into the billet adapter. It is supposed to go inside the billet adapter, right? That's what it says/shows on the installation instructions. Could this be the 323/328 intake instead of the 325/330? Second pic shows how big o-ring is in relation to the adapter. I am having so much bad car luck these past couple of weeks... :thumbsdown

I'm not sure but aren't 325i intake boots smaller than the 330i's i.e. you have to get the aFe box that fits a 330i, not a 325i? The BMW Performance intakes are that way.

Yeah, the 325 and 330 intakes aren't the same size, so I don't see how there could be a 325/330 combo version.

There is one that fits the M56 325 and M54 330. There is also another one for the 323/325/328 that doesn't fit the 330 which is probably the one I unfortunately got. Would it be possible to just buy the bigger billet adapter and fit it to the heat shield? I'm assuming the heat shield is the same size, is the air filter the same for all E46 3 series?
