Thought I would ask if I'm the only one with this (or if it's a E90 thing).
While cleaning the underside of the hood, I noticed 3-4 areas with oil spray (towards the center, around the 2 side hooks near the very front of the hood).
Now, on the Audi A6 4 cyl turbo I just sold, I noticed a lot more on the side opposite the turbo, maybe near or above the oil cooler. And I could understand that.
Choices are below. Note sure if I know how to post a poll thread. Maybe the bosses can help with that in case this fails.
- Is it because the hood is close to the OFHG (which is closer to the center of the engine bay in my e93 compared to my e46)?
- Is it because my oil separator is not doing it's job well, or there is oil blowing in places (positive crank case sorta thing - help not sure what I'm saying or if it's even remotely possible)?
- Is it because its a small tight German engine bay with a great hot running powerhouse inside that sweats oil a bit?
