View Full Version : Rattle, oh boy.

So I noticed a rattle seemingly coming from my engine bay, specifically when I get above about 2400-2500 RPMs. It's very faint and sounds kind of like like a loose chain. My best guess is VANOS, so is this what vanos rattle sounds like? Something else maybe? My car has 112k and I've never heard this before.

*** Heard back today company funds were acquired so I can stay! I've already started the job search process though, that's a train that's hard to stop once started...

This is just the infamous VANOS rattle. It doesn't affect anything other than your ears and you can let it go if you want.

Otherwise, Beisan Systems sells the anti-rattle kit on their website.

Can't look up link right now. Google it and you'll find it.
