So recently without even thinking I offered my car to someone who apparently said yes to buying it. He is purchasing the vehicle on the 20th of this September. I need another car to replace said vehicle (Weekend car). I know that what I'm looking for is almost impossible to find. This has to be a clean car so that I can put it away for a few years only to come back and fall in love all over again.

This is my current vehicles window sticker. I basically had a fully loaded AW/black interior without ZHP package.

Budget: 15-16k (Extendable for the right vehicle)
Desired location of vehicle: Eastern seaboard
Desired Mileage: Less than 70k
Transmission type: 6MT (why is this even a choice?)
Desired number of Doors: 4 or two. Preferably 4 but two comes with adaptive headlights which I enjoy having now.
Desired Color combos: AW/NaturalBrown/Alcantara
Desired Packages: Navi/ZPremiumPackage/ZHP/Xenon/HK/HeatedSeats (Fully Loaded!)
Funds lined up? Yes.
Have a car you need to sell first? Already sold :(

Although I am actively searching, I need your help, Mafia Family! If I cannot find another car to replace by November, I'll probably get myself into an S2000. Thanks in advance!

If you are only settling for a AW/NB, just buy Jon's, because you aren't going to find any more, IMO. Super rare. But he already has like 130k miles if I recall. His car doesn't show it at all.

That's an idea but I want to stay away from the miles. If this is a task that cannot be done, unfortunately I will be left to give up for now and circle back next fall.

why cant you back out of your original deal?

Agreed... Back out of your original deal. You never HAVE to sell something... As for my car, yes it has miles. Does it show it? Absolutely not. Would you even know it had that many miles if I didn't tell you? No way at all.

I look at a lot of E46s and I've driven a lot of the Mafia cars, and I have to say, my car does NOT show the age at all. And lets not forget, the traditional "average" mileage rating is 12,000 miles/year... My 2003 ZHP is 11 years old... That puts the estimated mileage at 132,000 miles. My car is still just shy of 132k. So, technically its a low mileage car. :biggrin

Seriously, don't let the mileage fool you. 130k miles on Jon's car is just as fresh as any 70k-mile ZHP you'll find. You are not going to find another AW/NB combo easily, so if you needed to get rid of the car now and buy something ASAP, Jon's car is your only choice. Personally, I would spring for Jon's car for the $20k he was asking for it if I was looking because I wouldn't have to touch the car at all; all maintenance done and has the mods I would have done myself. I have seen his car in person and have driven it; it's definitely one of the freshest ZHPs I've ever driven.

Consider it an EAG car.

Consider it an EAG car.

Wow, I hold that comment in high praise. Thanks BP.

The sad part, you'll have to really pry it from my hands. My car is perhaps the finest example of an AW/NB ZHP, and now that I'm home again and driving her, I've fallen in love all over.

OP: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=991288 (Sorry I know the miles are high).

If mileage bothers you just get a compression and leak down test and find out how strong it is. Good luck in your search - sometimes the search is the most fun part!

Thanks and I do believe Jon has a great car. The reason I cannot back out of the sale is because the person who is buying the car already booked a plane ticket. Also, since it isn't a ZHP, I can't wrap my head around keeping it. Good suggestions all over though, I appreciate the help.

I just compared your window sticker to mine. Your car was about $2k more in base price, but my car came out $700 more in the end. My car had the ZHP package, cold weather, Xenon and Nav... The headlights cost you $100 more in 2004 than they did in '03, but the Nav was the same cost. Kind of interesting to see the differences.

Good luck, if you want your perfect ZHP, you know where I am.

We'll be expecting a thread soon about your new AW/NB ZHP and a thread about Joop bawling his eyes out.

Not AW but Imola and CLEAN! I do believe he is a Mafia member also.

That right there is the car I'd buy. But I'm IR biased!

If, and BIG ifs, IR & conv would scratch your itch, I have one that might fit your bill.

She just hit 50K miles and I'd match my wife's car up against any ZHP in the country, few compare to its condition and/or maintenance history, even fewer can beat it. She has attended all 3 east coast mafia meets and many have seen her & can vouch for her condition.

And if not, she'll winter in the garage and come out this Spring for sale.

You know... This was my third E46. I had 2 330's and a convertible fully loaded M3 convertible with a hardtop MSRP of 63k. I know this might sound insane to most of you but I think I'm done. I've learned with maintenance and truly caring about your vehicle, you can keep these cars forever. Even though the Fanatics community isn't as strong as this one, it is really an asset to be able to spot your problems from afar. It was truly a pleasure owning and driving this car. The M54 is a spectacular engine and is probably one of the best all around engines I've ever had the pleasure of owning and experiencing. As I spend my last day with my car today which, in my eyes, was one of the best examples of a 330Ci that I've found to date, I can't help but think what a home run BMW really hit with this car. From the angles and the sharp looks to the feel of the steering wheel, it really does become a larger extension of your hand on the road. I went to go test drive a few 335i's today seeing as if I could get myself into one of those newer BMW's and it just didn't feel the same. Faster? Yeah sure... More refined? perhaps.... but the feel that the E46 chassis gave me, it's something I don't think I'll find in another car in a long while. Thank you to all the Mafia members who made me feel right at home for such a short time. Thanks to John for vouching with me in the community. If ever there comes a time when I can get myself into another one of these cars and put it in my garage for 10-15 years, you can bet your ass I will be the first to do so. Also.. If any member needs help in the Nassau County area of Long Island, I will always be here to help anyone out. Do not be afraid to PM me.
