Hey all,

My dash trim (silver cube) was starting to peel off the actual plastic part, so I ripped it off completely. I probably could have re-glued it, but I wasn't sure it would sit right...

How can I get the leftover glue off? I was gonna recover it in suede or alcantara. Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot amigos -

Ah that sucks! Some goo gone would probably make the trick, although at this point you're probably better off buying the piece off any old 325 with wood trim and recovering that instead.

Yeah, don't waste your time with that piece. Just get a replacement and work with that.

I don't want to waste a nice ZHP piece - I'll get a cheap wood set and start from there. i really need a radio trim piece more than any of them, as mine has broken mounting points.

That looks like some serious adhesive. I'd imagine heat is the only way that'll ever come off, and even then it probably will melt the plastic backing before it ever got soft enough to get off. Either that or you'll need some hard-to-get special chemicals.

I took a hair dryer to it and it came off relatively easily. But yeah you're right there's definitely still some left

Interesting! Didn't expect that. Well, if it came off that easily, I'd get some adhesive remover, use the hair dryer again and see if you can get the rest of it off. This stuff seems like it could potentially work.

Edit: It's made by Duck brand. My good friend is an engineer at the Duck brand duct tape factory, I wonder if he would know
