This shift knob looks awesome! I know the F10 M5 ZHP knob and the 135/335 ///M knob fit our cars, but I wonder if this knob will? Granted, it's very expensive ($175), but man does it look good. Perfectly matches black cube trim!

Looks exactly the same as the silver performance knob just black. So I'm guessing it will fit

I didn't even notice that. Whoops.

I almost went for this one, but thought I'd like the shift pattern to light up just for aesthetics.

I have this in my f30. It will fit but looks very different than the black cube in person.

It is a sweet knob! Very heavy and nice feel!

I do like it a lot. Does it also light up? I'm in love with the light up M5 knob in my car :drool

Maybe when the M3/M4 comes out I'll take a look again.

The performance shift knobs do not light up. I like this shift knob but won't sacrifice the lit shift knob I have in both cars...

The lit M5 ZHP-style shift knob is the best knob on the market, IMO.

I concur with this statement :thumbsup

Can you point me to the DIY on the lighted/lit shift knob install?

I love the form of this knob better than the ZHP knob. I don't think I'll be going back.

At least $175 buys you an alcantara boot too. I wonder if that fits on the E46 plastic trim?

This. Best looking knob in our cars, imo.

Doubt it. The shape is different, therefore changing the dimensions of the boot.
It would essentially be a useless boot. That was definitely the case when I bought the M-Sport shift knob from the former Boss' E92 335i.

Not necessarily....I bought the F10 M5 illuminated knob with the boot ( second to last one on this page: https://www.getbmwparts.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=AccessoryCatalog&siteid=214672&catalogid=4462&categoryid=192002&startrow=26 ). I pulled off the plastic ring from my alcantara boot as well as the plastic ring from the new boot. I re-glued the new boot to the old plastic ring (had to gather one corner due to the dimensional difference) but in the end it turned out fine.

Got a pic of it?

I had the silver version of this knob and I liked the weight of it but the diamter is too small. Feels like you're grabbing a stick to shift instead of a knob. I ended up selling mine a while ago and personally would recommend going with the bmw performance perforated leather knob that was on the 1 series.

The F30 boot seems to be closer in shape to the E46 boot than the F10 boot. Might not look too bad if you transfer the E46 ring

Here are different views of it. I took a close-up of the right side corner because that is where the extra material was gathered and tucked. Note that both of the seams of the leather don't exactly go to the corners because the F10 chassis frame has an odd shape.
