So I'm cleaning out my battery box yesterday (I know, I know, call it preventative maintenance) and when putting things back together I noticed this day going plug. Its hanging down from under the trunk liner. if I reach back under the trunk liner just sneaks into a wiring bundle. I got the battery hooked back up and everything, lights and whatnot works fine. Any thoughts? I'm thinking maybe for an option not installed. Thanks Steve.

Was there a battery warmer option?

That plug is for shipment from Germany, something to do with reducing the parasitic draws on the battery while on the ship transiting the Atlantic Ocean. As part of the prep for delivery, the dealer removes the piece that was connected to the positive terminal and to that connector but that wiring harness stays installed in the car.

Bruce, you're so damn smart... I guess its true what they say.... Age begets wisdom... :rofl
Steve! Good to see you on the board man, I still dream about your car on occasion. That 15 minute test drive still has me hooked... :wub Hope to see you around at some point!

Yeah, I also have had the pleasure of driving Steve's ZHP beast :thumbsup Beautiful car for sure!
Not surprised that Bruce would have the answer to Steve's question :)

More like water running over a rock, eventually it'll cut a groove in it. When you get to my old age, there's been enough info tossed at this block head that some it is bound to stick...

I think there's another mystery wire under the back seat that is also related to this.

I forget... Just some sort of plug that's tucked within some thick insulation.

Did the car have Bluetooth installed? If not, it's prewired for it
Edit: there isn't very much under here

For what it's worth, when new Subaru's come to us from the port we have a couple fuses to move around and in some cars, a big ol' connector under the dash that needs to be unplugged before the car functions properly.

Awesome thanks. Not like me to miss a wire connection, but I am not getting any younger...
Yea Joop, I am usually just lurking in the background. Just way too few hours in the day. Like you travel has just been crushing my home schedule.
The ZHP got a lot of love this weekend. Just finished said battery prep, cleaning all the wheel sensors, an interior detail and wash/wax. Ringing in the new year with some ZHP love.

Good to hear Steve... I'll be car shopping when I get home, and a couple of options will bring me out to Tampa. We need to get together again if I make it out that way!
