View Full Version : Exterior door trim is broken

Some of the clips broke off of this piece http://www.ecstuning.com/ES77807/ and I tried to glue them back and after a few attempts it looked and worked good enough, although not perfect. Now the the trim is too close to the car and the paint rubs off the car every time I close the door. So I want to buy a new one but I have a few questions.

The trim on the other side seems to have rubber lining the piece between the plastic and the car.

The broken trim does not have this rubber and I cannot tell if a new one from ECS has it either. So I am wondering if I need the rubber there and if a new one will come with it?

Also if I buy a new trim is it easy to install? Do I just slide the clips into place?

Mine broke too and I didn't have rubber. It's probably just the way you glued the clips. Check with Bill (illirep) - he replaced his recently.

I need to buy this too haha.

Ok thanks, I wonder if I can find a ZHP that's parting out and try to buy the piece from it. That could work right?

Absolutely. In the 2 years I've had my car I only saw 2 "parting-out" listings, though.

I have a question. Is the shadowline window trim two pieces or one? on my drivers side (possibly passenger) I see what looks to be a clean split near the rear.

Yes I need the passenger side, and I asked the guy parting out his ZHP in the link and hes selling all the trim together...
