From what I see ... I'm very interested.

Now for the down and dirty (you can PM me, if you prefer):

• Curb rash on 3 original wheels
How bad are we talking? Pics please.

• Moonroof sun shade rails inoperable
Does this mean the moonroof doesn't work at all?

• Small roof dent above left C pillar
Pics, please.

• 3 scrape marks on left rear bumper corner
Pics, please.

• Scuff marks on splitters
Pics, please.

• 3” V-shaped windshield, starting and ending in A pillar
I assume you meant to say there was a 3" crack in the windshield? Pics please.

• Cracked lower air intake plastic grille
Not sure what this is, exactly. Pic please.

• No front plate bumper strip will be provided. No drill holes in front bumper.
I'm not sure what you mean, since the pictures that you provided seem to have a front plate bumper strip. Not that I want one, just confused.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also, can you provide some more interior pics? As is, shots of both doors' handle's cube quality/wearage? And the cubing around the 6mt? And more shots of the seats, as in what's the wear on the bolsters and in general? Rear seats? Any non-specific general wear?
Also, can you give me a list of what scheduled *and* preventative maintenance you have done?
Lots of IRs for sale recently...
That's likely my doing ... I am rather focused on a certain color ...
Ooops, did I say focused? I meant obsessed ...
Now for the down and dirty (you can PM me, if you prefer):
• Curb rash on 3 original wheels
How bad are we talking? Pics please. Will post pictures tomorrow.
• Moonroof sun shade rails inoperable
Does this mean the moonroof doesn't work at all? The glass moonroof is fully operable but the shade does not slide back correctly because it is off the rails.
• Small roof dent above left C pillar
Pics, please. Will post pictures.
• 3 scrape marks on left rear bumper corner
Pics, please.
• Scuff marks on splitters
Pics, please. Will post pictures.
• 3” V-shaped windshield, starting and ending in A pillar
I assume you meant to say there was a 3" crack in the windshield? Pics please. Will post pictures.
• Cracked lower air intake plastic grille
• No front plate bumper strip will be provided. No drill holes in front bumper.
I'm not sure what you mean, since the pictures that you provided seem to have a front plate bumper strip. Not that I want one, just confused. The front bumper black rubber strip comes in 3 section. The middle section is interchangeable, plain strip or strip with integral license plate backer. See picture attached.
Also, can you provide some more interior pics? As is, shots of both doors' handle's cube quality/wearage? And the cubing around the 6mt? And more shots of the seats, as in what's the wear on the bolsters and in general? Rear seats? Any non-specific general wear? Will post pictures.
Rear seats are virtually factory new.
Also, can you give me a list of what scheduled *and* preventative maintenance you have done? All services/repairs performed by local dealer. Oil changed at half the recommended intervals (approximately every 6,000 miles). Next scheduled service is inspection in 2,000 miles. In addition to the listed items above front end bushings, shocks, and thermostat/housing replaced at around 65,000 miles
She made the trip north to her new home 1265 miles without a hitch. In the north she will live as a garage queen, out for fun drives in the summer when the weather is nice and the road calls:thumbup
This car, with the exception of being in the Imola Red which I really wanted this time around, is exactly like my old ZHP which I bought new in '04 and had to trade in on an X5 when kids came in '09....all the way down to the aluminum foot pedals which we both bought when our cars were only months old. I was surprised to find I know this seller from back then on the Bimmerfest forum and I found out recently we traded a few posts 10 yrs ago...
This car was born old school on the roads of Germany via ED and LDV IR-ZHP brought her to the U.S. where she lived the last decade meticulously cared for. He did a marvelous job maintaining this car and as the original owner provided documentation and receipts for every single service performed. :respect
He speaks very highly of the car clubs in Houston and spoke of getting more involved again in his new blue 335 (which is also a beautiful car BTW). I feel our agreed upon price of $12,400 was very fair.
I love being back in a ZHP and will try to contribute to this forum...more details soon!
My previous ZHP was Titanium Silver: '04 sedan, 6MT, alcantara, silver cube, xenons, moonroof, added OEM alarm, tasteful tint, UGDO, bluetooth, and aluminum pedals all just like my new car's seller. VIN check even shows they rolled out of Munich within a month of each other - they're practically twins, which makes this all the more nostalgic. I still like the TiAg, just wanted something with a little more heat for my summer fun car and I always liked the IR. Only being available outside the M's on the ZHP made it even more desirable as the ZHP's really have become something of a collector's item. I never could figure out how just a handful of little tweaks to the E46 platform could somehow create a car SO much fun to drive!
Thanks all for the welcomes, happy to be back in the company of fellow ZHP freaks-:thumbsup
P.S.- I'd post a pic, but they're all at the top of the thread. For 95,000 miles this thing looks amazing-
Welcome back Mr. Kotter! :)
I also did an ED of an '04 IR with Natty brown cow and passed it on to a fellow board member here when I decided to go smaller with the 135i. That was five years ago and I still have a fond spot in my heart for the ZHP.
Congrats on the new addition and keep us posted on her new experiences up in the land of cheese whiz and curdles.
