Hey, as some of you know from my forum posts, I have a 2004 Titanium A/T coupe. For those who read my latest post the dealer decided to not tell us what was wrong with it. I also recently noticed the pax door will not unlock at times and the "manual" option on the steptronic would not shift... Push up to up shift and it went to red line while I was trying to make it shift. Any thoughts?

On an 04 the steptronic should be pull back to shift up, push forward to shift down. Check out the diagram on your shift plate.

When you were trying to make the car shift did you have your foot to the floor? Mine would only not shift when I wanted when I went past the click with the throttle.

Can you also explain the passenger door issue with a little more detail?

I look stupid LOL, but the diagram has plus on top and negative on the bottom? Seems like a keep it simple stupid thing....

Ok, so I double click on the key... drivers unlocks pax does not. Try to unlock from inside of car, no luck. I have to reach over and pull the handle to unlock it. Erratic mostly.

Maybe a previous owner switched it? That's what I want to do to mine some day.

But your results seem to indicate the modes are not switched. Is it possible only the diagram has been replaced from an '01 or less E46?

Maybe it was incorrectly replaced? Looking at the part number info, starting with the 2002 model year they reversed the direction. I.E. down for up, up for down.

I had that same issue on my 1999 323I that turned out to be a module in the door lock system. It got so bad that the passenger door couldn't be opened at all and wifey wasn't happy about crawling over the consoled.
