Considering doing the wheels and grills in the black plastidip. Just seeking some opinions of some fellow BMW lovers like me before I buy the stuff to do it and invest the time. Think it would work with the color? Thanks for your input! Here's a couple pics for reference.

I recently plasti dipped my wheels black. They had a decent gloss for a couple of weeks, but then the brake dust caught up and made them look nasty. I also missed being able to see all of the contours and corners. I wanted a dark color to go with my car, so I copied damonchoy a few days ago and added silver metalizer to the black base which made them look great.

Plasti dip isn't a huge investment, plus it's fun to experiment. I say go for it! Be sure to check out all the colors offered on dipyourcar.com. If you decide on black, buy the plasti dip from home depot or lowes. It's only $6 a can there.

Might look good. You can always pull it off.

Nice! Never seen these wheels in black before. I think I'll give it a try. Thanks everyone for your input.

NP. Either pull the wheels or use garbage bags to cover the brake components.

Thank you for the credit! ;)

Silver metalizer on top of a black base does look pretty great. It'll end up looking like this if you go for it:

Here is my thread in how I Plastidipped my M68's using black and gold metalizer. I think that the gold formulation has too much green in it. I would have liked if it had more brown in it.

I helped my friend do his with a few coats of black then a few coats of silver metalizer which I find has a blue tint to it. You can easily do your car by taping everything up really good around and loosely using two plastic grocery bags to cover the brake components:

This is after several coats of black:

Then silver metalizer:

The black did really good on the top of the MOMO shift knob though!

Too lazy to pull wheels off car? Took more time to tape all the newspaper on the car

Just put plastic bags on inside of wheels over brakes and you can peel excess off tires easily

Just remember to grease the tires up with tire shine and wipe the excess off the wheels... I didn't and I couldn't get all the light spray off. Gold tires were kind of bling though.
