BMW Performance CF Strut Bar- $588

BMW CF Strut Bar on eBay for $588 shipped. Doesn't come with mounting hardware, few scuffs and scratches. The seller doesn't know what he is selling. The listing isn't for a E46. I contacted him regarding this and he said it does fit (because of the E46 on the strut bar tag) and the photos are of the actual bar. But when I requested that he send more photos he said there wasn't enough time to get them to me before the auction ended. There was 9 hours left at that point so I back away from this deal. He relisted it for a slightly lower price.

Ok so is the strut bar in the pictures the ACTUAL bar you have for sale then? Because the bar in the photos is for a BMW E46 330 which is what I'm looking for NOT a bar for a E82 E90 E91 E92 etc. Please verify as $600 is a lot of money to pay and receive the wrong one.

Yes, the only other version of this had different mounting points. This is definitely E46

I'm interested, but it's eBay 101 to wait when it's this far from completion to bid. I'm okay with the price as it is now, but with no mounting hardware, scuffs/scratches, etc I wouldn't want to see it bid up to prices for ones in better condition with all the parts...although based on discussions with Charlie that tends to be the case with these things...

The more sensible side of me was eyeing the ECS Tuning bar...does anyone have one of those? They look nice for the price.

I have it. It was on the car when I bought it. Once I realized it was putting me into a modified class for autoX I took it of, which is really easy to do. You can remove just the bar and leave the base attached. It looks nice but I don't know if it does anything for the handling. One, I don't drive aggressive on the streets. Two, I've read that a strut bar need to be connected at the shock towers and the firewall to do anything.

Ya I was watching it then also. When he lowered it to $588 I contacted him and offered $500 shipped beings there was NO hardware and it had some scratches. His reply is posted in my first post.

FYI: I just snagged this baby from E46Fanatics and it's pretty much brand new with all the hardware and instructions for $575 shipped.

It all depends on how deep the scratches are....if the scratches are light then most likely you will be able to detail them all out. I had some very light scratches on the strut bar I got from Bruce....nothing major and I was able to detail them out using the 3M rubbing compound. The surface is like liquid glass and velvety smooth now....absolute perfection :)

yeah, i held a small GB like last year or something. Only reason why we saved so much is because it was a local GB, split shipping + 10% off. the MSRP for the bar was cheaper than it is now though.

i'm going to try to do a GB for the rear xbrace + strut bar whenever i have money to buy it lol

I'm sure it's just me and my tinfoil hat...But something doesn't sit right with this one...It's been for sale for awhile. The guy JUST put it up as a standard auction which means he wants it gone...

Also, if I'm spending the money for one of these I'd do it right, get one in good condition with all the parts instead of potentially having the price inflated with an auction and then having to spend on top to fix the blemishes/scratches and get the mounting materials.

That's just me though, I'm sure it'd be a great buy if the price stays low, which means don't bid until the end if you are. Get multiple tabs open and refreshing, and put in a weird/unique price point...electronic Bay 102.

This strut bar was listed for over a month now. First listed at $600 "Buy it Now" and I offered him $550 and he said NO. It was relisted for $588 "Buy it Now" several times, then down to $499 "Buy it Now" several times. He relisted it in a bidding auction which is now up to $600 which the only difference is he added E46 in the title.
