My clutch went out today...So I'm looking at bavatuo to get a new clutch...to say the least its overwhelming. I want a stock clutch and stock flywheel. I also want to replace the rear seal and throwout bearing while the car is torn apart. There are two kits on bavauto with everything included minus the flywheel. Ive also looked at autohaus az. My budget for the clutch, flywheel, throwout bearing, and rear seal is under 1K. Can someone please steer me in the right direction.

Also my car is an 03 if that helps the search because the production dates kind of confuse me

I can't speak from personal experience but I know a few forum members have replaced their clutches. Johnmadd and derbo have both done it.

Here is a link to some insight.

E34 M5 seems to be a popular choice. Please get a lightened flywheel.

Thanks much, from reading previous posts people complain that the light flywheel chatters to much?

I am running the turner motorsports clutch kit. No complains from me.

Someone here swapped in an M5 clutch into their zhp when their clutch went bad. They eventually sold the car because the clutch was too heavy and they didn't like it. That clutch might have been from an e39 instead of an e34 though I don't remember.

Go OEM imo. NO need to upgrade or use a lightened fly wheel (they do chatter) and the stock clutch is very capable.

Man people are really split on lightened flywheels lol....some say go for it others say don't ....

Were you happy with the performance of your stock clutch? If so, then why change to a non-stock clutch? There's a chance you won't like it and it'll be pretty costly to switch back.

I like light weight flywheels. Depends on the person and their preferred performance

UUC is most known for chatter. There are many other options out there. I hear the performance benefit it raw, and you won't have to wait an eternity for your RPMs to fall. Do some research and find something. Email Turner, they should know about it. Talk to VAC Motorsport as well.

Has anyone ever used this flywheel or have an opinion?

Thanks much. I've decided I'm gonna go stock. There a kit on bavauto with front and rear seals shift shaft seal pilot bearing for like 526$.

Would I need a different clutch if I went with the uuc flywheel?

I'm not sure if you could use the SAC with a different flywheel, but I don't see a reason you couldn't. I would upgrade the clutch if you are upgrading the flywheel.

I'm going LUK for the clutch because I'm getting it through the dealer for less than anywhere online.
