Not sure if this is legal or not, but as an original member here, I feel the need to take liberties.

Keith, if you don't like it, well, then, phooey on you. Yea, I said it. Phooey.

So back in the day (December of 1969), I joined ZHP Mafia because I owned this car and liked the people here:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a107/mbcoops/ZHP/D7DBFEC9-D075-4535-A6E4-21AE52567756-11283-00000EB8C9B4849A.jpg

And I went to events like this one:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a107/mbcoops/ZHP/F34DEAA1-D068-40B4-81B5-C0B85EB9536F-11283-00000EB9303BF637.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a107/mbcoops/ZHP/91CCD5A1-1FA3-4089-93B6-FDCC8D2DFB69-11283-00000EB928601A9A.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a107/mbcoops/ZHP/4E38E3BF-9E78-4E49-8082-442261BA5460-11283-00000EB92C21D0F6.jpg

Then hysteria hit me, and I got rid of that car (bye bye!):
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a107/mbcoops/ZHP/3F3DDAFB-5668-4F2F-AE89-44F9A575C33C-11283-00000EBA7C6D2BDD.jpg

In order to scratch this itch:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a107/mbcoops/135is/null_zpsc7ed5300.jpg

And it has been a very fun two years, scratching away.

But as happens sometimes, life changes priorities. Nowadays, I need to buy a home closer to where I work, up in north jersey, where prices are craycray. This means car payment no es bueno, so I've worked a sweet deal to get rid of said payment. My father loves the E82, so he's buying it. As part of the deal, I get his E46, and I am sans car payment and back into the E46 fold.

Many of you have met this car:
Top right of this pic - http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a107/mbcoops/ZHP/69ab0089.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a107/mbcoops/ZHP/1d74d86b.jpg

So I'm back. Oh yea, my name is Marc.

The "new" old car is a 2002 325 coupe, +-50k miles, loved by my family since it had 15k miles on it back in 2003. OB over Sand. Premium, Sport, etc... Not sure how easy it'll be to go from 300 lb/ft of torque available at 1,800 rpm, but I'll figure it out. As my friend Andrew (who now owns the red car above) said: it might just be that the E46 is the best car ever made.

Anyhoozle, here's some closer shots:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a107/mbcoops/325ci/325ext.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a107/mbcoops/325ci/325frdiag.jpg

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a107/mbcoops/325ci/325int2.jpg

So I need some help with some stuff. I'd love to put some M68s on this badboy. Then I'd love to do nothing else to it other than drive it. Oh, maybe a better steering wheel.

Welcome back to me! Yahoo!

I love my 325 ZSP FTW! Welcome back. Good luck with the reduction in power (I hear it's addictive ;))

Hey Marc, nice to see you back on the forum! I'm sure you'll enjoy the E46 once again, just give it some time for the power deficit to settle in and you'll probably forget about the One. Ok, ok, not really but the E46 is a fun chassis. Incidentally, not sure how you plan to pull this off, but it did give me a good laugh: "Then I'd love to do nothing else to it other than drive it." :drevil Yea, let us know how that works out for you. :slap In the meantime, I will be sure that the mods leave you space for a OB/Sand 325ci modding thread. :santa2

Nah. It was a good time to sell and a great opportunity to get the E82.

You know, I've said this a thousand times before on other forums that have cat fights about the superiority or inferiority of 325 vs. 330 -- the 325 5 speed (yes, folks, it haz 5 speeds) is geared to the point where it doesn't feel as lacking as you'd think it would.

Glad you are back.

Thankya!

Something makes me so happy about a perfectly bone-stock, well maintained car. Hell, I might even get used to the wood trim. I am nudging into my mid 30s, so maybe this is a growing up thing? Anti-mid-life crisis?

Things about the E46 I haven't gotten over being without:
- rattle free interior
- actual intermittent wipers
- absence of rain sensing wipers
- air temp wheel in the middle of the vent
- dipstick
- spare tire

This is not to rag on the E82. It's friggin' insane in every way, and it _feels_ as a BMW should feel, from steering to handling. I will go into withdrawal without the exhaust note.

Beautiful car! Perfect candidate for an S54 swap.

Welcome (back)!

As owners of both a 135 and a ZHP Kpro and I are lucky that we can switch between both. They are definitely two different cars. The 135 is raw power and the ZHP is sweet smoothness. They handle different too.
I didn't drive my ZHP for 5 months this this winter and I really missed it.
I guess what I'm saying is I don't see anything wrong with the switch back to an e46. They're two different animals but they are still BMWs
Have fun with the new-old ride!
Will we see you at Bimmerfest East this year?

Nice seeing you back here Marc! You sir have a very clean ride! :thumbsup I'm sure you will make nice improvements to your "new-old" car :) May I suggest getting sprint booster to start your string of mods? ;)

Thanks Charlie! Does SB affect MPG? I forgot the other thing I won't miss about the E82 is the tiny gas tank, and I'm looking forward to getting mid-high 20s in MPG again!

It can if you're always mashing the throttle...I myself don't see a significant change (for the worse) in my gas mileage. Using this does liven up the car a bit though :thumbsup
