I guess I didn't recall this screw was a left hand thread and of course it snapped. Any ideas on how to get the remained out?

I have not done this on a 330, but you might be able to loosen those nuts on the disc that says "Front" and get the splined Shaft to slip out allowing you to use channel locks on the bolt, but You might want to review the vanos procedure first to see if that makes sense.

The one person I know with ample experience that may know would be Raj from Beisan. I think he has his number listed on the site or at least an email.

If I recall correctly, there was a way to get by this. I'm looking into the procedure right now.

Yup, here it is:

Note: Bolt is left hand thread, thus unscrew by turning wrench from left to right (clockwise) (car front orientation).

Note: If a bolt breaks, continue removal of vanos from engine. Once vanos is removed remaining bolt in splined shaft can be easily unthreaded (pick tool), left hand thread.

Woot Raj at Beisan to the rescue. That guide was my bible when doing the vanos on the M3.

There was enough of a nub to use a small screwdriver to slowly turn it.

I did the same thing, except I couldn't fish it out.... And had to take the helix cups out... And times my motor incorrectly like an idiot. This resulted in me hiring a mechanic to pull the head and replace all 24 (now bent) valves. He was shitty and his work ruined my motor. This resulted in my engine rebuild project last year. Lol

Wow, that's the kind of stuff that was going through my head. Praise God I was able to get it solved--yes I said a prayer or two! I plan to pick up the $1.55 bolts on Monday and finish the job.

Good stuff man. Those reverse thread bolts are killer. You've got it covered.
