Hey everyone, my name is Scott. Two weeks ago, I bought my second car, a 2005 330ci ZHP. I got the car from a local dealership, I'm the second owner, the car has not been in accidents and It's in near perfect condition. However my car has 145k on it and so I'm looking to make sure that the maintenance is up to date.

I noticed that the car has a slow coolant leak and that it's coming from a small crack in the overflow tank. Today I ordered a new genuine bmw overflow tank, and tranny thermostat, along with new hoses so that I can get the coolant issue sorted out ASAP.

I know that the thermostat, the waterpump, and the belts were replaced about a year ago by the original owner.

What else should I do for preventive maitinance or regular maitinance at the 145-150k mark?

I'm thinking I should change my fuel filter, drain the tranny and give it fresh fluid. Am I missing anything?

The car is running great, it's much more fun to drive than my last car ever was.

Welcome Scott.

Looks like you have a good list started.

But at 145k I would also look into VANOS and Disa as well as suspension. My FCABs and shocks were done for at 100k but I never would have known till I had them removed.

At 145k I would replace fuel filter, air filters, PS reservoir (if leaking), tranny and diff fluid, DISA, VANOS, update your DME, replace pre-cat O2 sensors.

Welcome. Where are you located?

Oh I'm located in Sugar Land Texas (Southwest Houston)

I'm upgrading the coolant system this week. The car has a minor power steering leak which I haven't been able to figure out yet, that will be my next repair. Other than those two issues the car is in excellent condition.

The suspension is in excellent condition.

The steering wheel needs to be rewrapped or replaced though because it's showing some signs of wear. I'd like yo rewrap it in the same material or replace it with the same //M leather steering wheel if possible.

I'm the second owner of this car. The only other issue is that the original owner took off the 135's before he traded in the car. So at this time I'm running 225/45/17's all the way around sadly. Once the repairs have been completed and everything is in perfect running order I plan on getting some nice wheels for my car.

Here's a picture of my car.

Where is the PS leak? Or how do you know it's leaking?

Well it's more of a slow seep rather than a leak. I noticed a little bit or red fluid on the back of the engine splash guard. So I looked further and I found that there is a little bit of the red fluid on the drivers side boot on the rack. I checked the ps hoses that are underneath the car and they don't seem to be leaking. I'm just hoping that it's not the rack itself. I need to verify where it's leaking from before I throw any parts on the car. I know it's power steering fluid, just haven't had a chance to really look into it yet as the coolant leak has been my main concern. Any ideas where else the ps fluid could be leaking from?

A lot of times it's the o-ring on the reservoir. But not sure that matches your symptoms. Others here may know.

I removed the airbox so that i could get a better view under the res and of the hoses. The power-steering leak doesn't appear to be coming from that area.
